Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Sourcelid LLC ("Sourcelid," "we," "us") collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit our website, use our artist dashboard and related account services (the "Platform"), or contact us. It is incorporated into our Terms and Conditions. If it conflicts with the Terms and Conditions or the Distribution Agreement, those control.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

2. Information we collect

You give us:

  • Account and contact details: name, artist/label name, email, phone or WhatsApp number, country.
  • Content and release information: audio, artwork, metadata, credits, songwriter and publisher details, split sheets, ISRC/UPC/ISWC codes, lyrics.
  • Payment and tax information: PayPal or bank details, and tax forms such as W-9 or W-8BEN, which may include a Social Security Number, EIN or foreign tax ID.
  • Communications: messages, emails, forms, WhatsApp conversations and support requests.
  • Identity or rights verification documents when we need to substantiate ownership or clear a sample.

We collect automatically:

  • Device and usage data: IP address, browser, pages viewed, referring page, timestamps.
  • Acceptance records: checkbox status, timestamp, IP address, agreement version, and the related release (required by our Terms and Distribution Agreement).
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see our Cookie Policy).

From others:

  • Streaming platforms and distribution partners: usage, earnings and content-matching reports tied to your catalog.
  • Collaborators, managers or labels who add you to a release or act on your behalf.
  • Rights organizations and content-identification services.

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must accept our agreements for you.

3. How we use information

  • Provide, operate and secure the Platform and your account.
  • Deliver releases, report and pay earnings, issue statements and handle withdrawals.
  • Review releases for rights, metadata and content-matching issues, and handle takedown or dispute matters.
  • Comply with tax, accounting, sanctions and other legal obligations.
  • Communicate with you about your account, releases and support.
  • Send news or offers where permitted (you can opt out anytime).
  • Analyze and improve the Platform, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our agreements.

Contract performance (providing the services), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improvement, service communications), legal obligation (tax and records), and consent (marketing, non-essential cookies). You may withdraw consent at any time.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:

  • Service providers that host, deliver and support the Platform: distribution and royalty-processing technology, cloud hosting, payment providers (PayPal, banks), email and messaging, customer support, and professional advisors (legal, accounting).
  • Distribution partners and platforms (streaming services, stores, content-identification and rights organizations) to the extent needed to deliver and monetize your content, including credits and metadata that become public.
  • Collaborators on a release you share (for example, co-writers seeing their own splits).
  • Legal and safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights, or investigate fraud and claims.
  • Business transfers: in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this policy. Release credits and metadata you submit are published by platforms and cannot be fully withdrawn once public.

6. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the U.S. and elsewhere. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

7. Retention

We keep information as long as needed to provide the services, meet tax, accounting and legal requirements, resolve disputes and enforce agreements (for example, acceptance records and financial records are kept for the life of the relationship plus the period the law or limitation periods require). We then delete or anonymize it.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including access controls and encryption in transit. Sensitive tax and payment information is restricted to personnel who need it. No system is perfectly secure; please use a strong, unique password and tell us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.

9. Your choices and rights

  • Access, correct or update your information in your dashboard or by contacting us.
  • Delete your information, subject to legal, tax and contractual retention needs and to content already published by third parties.
  • Opt out of marketing using the unsubscribe link or by emailing us. Service messages will continue.
  • Cookies: manage preferences in our cookie banner; we honor Global Privacy Control signals.
  • Text/WhatsApp: reply STOP or tell us to stop contacting you that way.

California residents: you may request to know, access, correct, delete, and opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights. You may use an authorized agent. EEA/UK residents: you may also object to or restrict processing, request portability, and lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Latin America (for example Mexico, Colombia, Argentina): you may exercise access, rectification, cancellation and opposition rights under your local data-protection law by contacting us. We will verify your identity before acting on requests and respond within the time required by law (generally 30–45 days).

The Platform may link to other sites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. We will post the new date and, for material changes, notify you when you next access the Platform.
